Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) refers to the amount of dissolved oxygen consumed by the biochemical processes in which microorganisms decompose certain oxidizable substances in water, particularly organic matter, under specified conditions. Typically, this is measured by preparing a water sample in a completely sealed dissolved oxygen bottle and incubating it in the dark at (20 ± 1) °C for 5 days ± 4 hours. The concentration of dissolved oxygen in the water sample is measured before and after the incubation, and the differ-ence in the concentration of dissolved oxygen is used to calculate the amount of dissolved oxygen consumed per liter of sample, expressed as BOD

Product Description

The ZHK6250 Fully Automatic BOD Analyzer is an automat-ed detection instrument suitable for measuring biochemical oxygen demand in surface water, domestic sewage, and industrial wastewater. 

The entire instrument adopts an integrated structural design with a simple and elegant appearance, featuring up to 132 sample positions to meet the daily analysis needs of various laboratories. It utilizes an import-ed electrochemical dissolved oxygen electrode combined with advanced adaptive compensation algorithms to ensure that measure-ment results are accurate and reliable. With a one-button start feature, the instrument automatically completes a series of complex processes including dilution water preparation, sample dilution, constant tempera-ture and oxygen maintenance, cultivation, calibration, and measure-ment, significantly saving labor and improving work efficiency. The intelligent workstation software provides real-time feedback on the instrument's operational status, making the progress of experiments clear at a glance.

● Dual constant temperature zone design with two independent temperature control systems that coordinate  cooling and heating, ensuring a stable temperature at 20°C.
● 60 measurement positions for samples and up to 132 cultivation positions for samples, supporting offline cultivation to meet large-scale analysis needs.
● Supports multiple modes for non-dilution, non-dilution inoculation, dilution, and dilution inoculation methods.
● Supports multiple batches of automatic operation and allows for sample addition during the process.

 

Accuracy

● Utilizes globally leading YSI electrochemical dissolved oxygen electrodes (fluorescent electrodes are optional),  supporting compensation for tempera-ture, pressure, and salinity.
● All reagents are added through high-precision injection pumps to ensure accurate liquid dispens-ing.
● Unique bottle cap temporary storage technology guarantees that samples have sufficient equilibration time after aeration, yielding more accurate and reliable measurement data.
● Employs comprehensive spraying cleaning technology to ensure no cross-contamination during the experi-mental process, making it safer and more reliable.

● Alarms for empty sample positions, lid opening failures, cap drop, and robotic arm collisions to ensure operational safety.
● Alarms for reagent line blockages, rotary valve misalignment, and insufficient reagent levels.
● Alarms for abnormal temperatures in the constant temperature chamber, temperature sensor malfunc-tions, and dual temperature sensors to protect experi-mental safety.
